SQL Database Administrator - Chippenham

Following a recent retirement we have a vacancy for a Database Administrator (DBA), based in the head office at Chippenham. This is a key role within the business and involves the following tasks using Production, Development, Test and ‘other' SQL environments:

  • Installation and Configuration of NMR Group Databases
  • Availability and Backup of the NMR Group Databases
  • Monitoring and Performance Tuning of NMR Group Databases
  • Maintenance, integrity and security of NMR Group Databases
  • Import and Export of data within the NMR Group Databases
  • Advanced SQL Coding Skills
  • Data Extraction to ad hoc requests
  • SQL Replication
  • SSIS
  • SSRS

You will need to meet the following criteria:

  • At least 3 years proven NMR Group database experience
  • A knowledge of SQL, including Stored Procedures
  • An understanding of the Principles of Good Database Design
  • Knowledge of SQL Coding Standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • To be a team player but, also, able to work individually
  • Proven problem solving skills
  • A pro-active approach
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn
  • Ability to work in a busy, sometimes demanding, environment
  • Flexible approach to delivering achievable tasks

The position is full time, working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday, with the occasional requirement to work outside normal hours and at weekends. Additionally, you will need to provide weekend and, possibly, Bank Holiday support on a rota basis.

Data Processor - Harrogate

We have a vacancy for a full time Data Processor working a four days on/four days off rota, 06.30 - 16.30hrs, based at Pannal, Harrogate.

Focusing on processing and updating dairy cattle data via in-house computer systems, the successful candidate must have the ability to learn quickly and work accurately whilst achieving deadlines.

Laboratory Technician (night shift) - National Milk Laboratories, Hillington

National Milk Laboratories has a vacancy for a Laboratory Technician to join the night shift working on a 7 on/7 off shift pattern (Monday to Sunday - 9pm to 7.30am) . This is a varied role which requires excellent organisational skills. The scope of work to be undertaken involves the registering and testing of samples and reporting results.
