Text brings milk results to attention
NMR customers can now get a text message informing them that their latest milk test results are now available on line, on its Herd Companion web site. NMR is offering this new service free of charge.
"The text message will be sent as soon as the results are available," says NMR's Jonathan Davies. "Producers can then view the results on screen, typically trimming at least 24 hours off the postal route.
"Most producers now have a mobile phone and access to the internet which is all they need to take advantage of the new service. The sooner that results can be viewed, the sooner any necessary actions can be taken - we envisage producers being particularly keen to check individual cell counts as there are huge advantages in picking up high count cows early," adds Mr Davies.
All NMR customers are being sent their confidential user name and password so they can access their data on Herd Companion. "If producers go to the NMR web site then select Herd Companion they will be asked for a user name and password. They can then view their latest milk test results - cell count results are in the Swift Cellchecker section."
