This video by Chris Hughes the Finance Director of NMR explains why NMR is well placed to prosper as world food prices rise. World food prices rose to a record high in January 2010, according to the UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). The Food Price Index averaged 231 points in January, up by 3.4% from December and represents the 7th monthly rise for the index. "These high prices are likely to persist in the months to come," FAO economist Abdolreza Abbassian said. The index is now at its highest level since the FAO started the measure in 1990.Rises were particularly high for dairy products, up 6.2% from December.
The core service provided by NMR is milk recording which provides management information to increase the efficiency of this production as well as increasing value with improved traceability and food provenance. Increasing value in milk inherently increases the value of milk recording.
