Long Service Ladies - Cumbrian ladies clock up 128 years

Four Cumbrian milk recording ladies have notched up 128 years of service with NMR. Eileen Ball from Torpenhow has 40 years under her belt, Doreen Head from Beckermet and Carol Stockdale from Newton Arlosh have 32 years and Deborah Bowman from Bowness on Solway has milk recorded for NMR for 24 years. None of them have retired and Carol and Deborah still have full-time milk recording schedules.

NMR marked the occasion last month and the four ladies were joined by their farmer customers for a presentation evening who wanted to be present to ‘thank' the girls by presenting them with a bouquet of flowers and a card that they had all signed for their respective milk recorder . They received their long service certificate and a Border Fine Arts figurine from NMR area manager Laurence Loxam.
